Govind Dev Ji Temple
One of the most revered Krishna temples in India, Govind Dev Ji Temple within the City Palace complex draws thousands of devotees daily and is renowned for its spectacular aarti ceremonies.
The Govind Dev Ji idol was originally installed in Vrindavan by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in the 18th century, who brought it to Jaipur to protect it from Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The idol is believed to be the most authentic likeness of Lord Krishna, carved from a single black stone by his great-grandson Vajranabha.
